Progress Report #3
Recently I have been gathering and organizing all of my art to prepare for the art show and I feel really ready and excited. I am confident in my work and I have made a few new pieces today to put in the art show. It has been challenging to decide the order of my work but I think I have the answer!

Progress Report #2
This week I have made one sink piece and some digital pieces and I looked at some awesome books that Mr. Miller let me take a look at. That was the highlight of my week; looking at some art that I totally worship. I feel really privileged to go to school here and have the opportunity to learn about art that most people think is weird or stupid. I feel like I wouldn’t have continued to pursue art if I didn’t have the freedom to express myself without being persecuted for not drawing or painting perfect pictures. Anyway, I am super excited for the art show because I have been laying out all of my work and planning my installation in my head.

I am really enjoying working with Photoshop and learning to make digital art. For the past two days I have been working on a ceiling panel for Mr. Miller’s room and its really fun right now. I will take one more day to work on my ceiling panel and get back to my digital art on Tuesday. I feel good about my work right now and I am feeling more prepared for the art show.

Right now I am not dying small sized muslin in mass amounts because it’s boring now after I know the outcome of my process. So I have been dying large canvases working with the some of my little pieces. I feel bored in my art right now but I’m still producing work every day. I started playing with brighter colors but I haven’t made anything I like yet. I’m not discouraged but I feel lost and bored. I’m trying to make art no matter what though so I can stay on my productive path. I do like my current sketchbook though. I am going to make a large painting now.

Progress Report #3
Recently I have forgotten about my proposal but I have been very prosperous. I have been updating my new wordpress blog almost everyday. I am unsure where to go next in my art, though. I am going to make a few large pieces for the art show because I want to be well received. Other than those pieces, I’m really in the dark about how to progress forward with my small pieces. I am unsure if my work is relevant. Today I was looking at my website and felt like my art was kind of stupid. I don’t know. I’m not giving up but I really don’t feel it today.
But now I’m going to play with composition more than color and shape ….

Progress Report #2
I am working diligently everyday and it feels fantastic. I feel so proud of myself and strong progress feels tangible. I have been working on my new website for the past few days but Monday I am getting back to the sink to make more awesome art! Now that I have more study halls, I can come in and work on my website without getting behind in my work. I am very close to 50 pieces and I made a nice drying rack so I can work a lot faster and produce more pieces at once because I have more space to work and store. It would be nice to have a space all to myself but I am just thankful to have ANY workspace.
Anyway, I am really excited for the art show and all of the awesome art that I am producing! I really like my style and to be honest, I am my biggest inspiration (how conceited!!!!!).

This week I have been at home with the flu so I haven’t made any art since Monday. I made about 15 pieces on Monday and last week I made some pieces too. I am not worried about this because when I get back I will get to work immediately because I miss making art so much! I think that I will meet my deadline of February 28 and 50 pieces.

I have been dying more canvas but I found out that it looks really cool when it dries in the sink on the ring of the drain and it creates an interesting shape on my piece. Art is aawesome ! I am slow but progressing. Work habits are awful but I always doing something productive in art class, which is a change from previous years.

Art making has been minimal. I am distracted with making my website. I have made one piece in the past week but I don’t like it. I need to write a new proposal because I am not organized and I have no direction; Just making art and doing whatever without a goal. I didn’t complete my last proposal so I guess I’ll pick it back up. Make two drawings from observation but make them my art, don’t try to look like somebody elses observational drawings. I can do this .

My drawing from observation plan has completely failed! I need to make more observational drawings for college but I’m just so much more interested in dying fabric and canvas. I am still confused about what kind of art I make and what materials I like to use. I am going to forget everything and just make art!

My art making has been minimal. When I make art, I really push myself to make something even if I don’t want to.
I want to keep dying fabrics because I really enjoy that. I love working with water and mixing colors…. I’m really fascinated with the tiny details of fabric and canvas. I want to keep to producing things that are my version of fine pieces of cloth.

Still working with canvas but I’m bored of my blocks. Really into dying canvas – invested in intricate and stunning colors. What I’m making is nothing near the ideas in my head but in the process of trying to produce what is in my head I am creating some cool stuff! I’m surprised at my process every time I make art. I hate my waves of insecurity, though… But I think I will keep dying fabric to make one strong, beautiful look.

I have been working with canvas and little cardboard square cut-outs I found in the trash. The 2 pieces I made this week remind me of little creatures working. I like what I’m doing and I feel good about my work – it is emotionally multidimensional. I am still feeling lost about what materials I like to use and how I will execute my ideas, but I am experimenting.

My work is coming along nicely. I’m really proud of myself – I work everyday and have produced a few pieces since the start of school. I am not feeling crazy passionate about my art right now but I presume that will kick in quickly. I need to finish the toul pieces and I want to start a larger sized piece. Maybe something on canvas. I am definitely on a minimalistic track! I really dig my goal and style right now!!
